Supply and Sale of Livestock

Gippsland Regional Agribusiness (GRA) requires the services of suitably experienced contractors/companies for the:

• Sale, purchase, and auditing of livestock; and
• The management and co-ordination of GRA agistment requirements for beef cattle. Agribusiness may accept submissions for all or some of the locations.
• Work will be requested as needed based on operational and seasonal requirements and may include the following tasks.

            -Assisting GRA staff with vaccinating/drenching of cattle

           -Drafting cattle prior to sale

           -Loading cattle on to cattle truck

The contractor will be required to source and purchase livestock for GRA when requested by GRA staff.

The contractor will need to be able to sell livestock on-site, at regionals selling centres, online, at feedlots or in stock yards. The contractor will be required to come to GRA sites to assess the stock for age, live weight, dressed weight, fat score and muscle score. They will be required to discuss with GRA the various marketing options and the prices available within each option and work out which alternative is the most profitable given GRA’s specific situation and the market environment.

GRA run livestock at Dutson Downs, Maffra, Heyfield, Stratford, Mirboo North, and Drouin. Livestock are principally consigned for market from Drouin, Maffra and Dutson Downs.
