Statement of Work - Managed services AWS Hosting

Provision of infrastructure via an Azure deployment environment for hosting the Biodiversity Data Repository (BDR) Ontotext GraphDB database.

  • Service Levels:
    • the specified infrastructure will be available during business hours for the Department (8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday) at best efforts (this is a hosting only agreement, with no support).
  • Period is 1 May 2024 – 30 June 2025
  • Specifications:
    • The Biodiversity Data Repository (BDR) is comprised of two separate components, a tabular-to-RDF translation service (called Part A) and a graph database (Part B).
    • The RDF graph database GraphDB from Ontotext has been chosen as the solution for the BDR.
    • Cloud infrastructure is required to host GraphDB and the BDR
    • The services provided will comprise Azure hosting environment for:

(a) a data collection and translation function and

(b) the storage of (meta)data translated to the Australian Biodiversity Information Standard (ABIS) for the purpose of making data directly available to consumers.

  • The supplier will provide the capability needed to maintain an instance of the GraphDB database in a suitably provisioned Azure environment.
  • Any Azure hosting fees will be fully passed through to DCCEEW, including any administration fee.

Security Requirements

The services must be delivered within all best practice security requirements for government products, including items such as data sovereignty and Australian Cloud hosting. For the absence of doubt, these are referenced in the attached Security and Privacy guidance.

Data acquired and stored within the solution must be securely managed, referenced and released in compliance with Australian Government security and privacy legislation, and adhere to government standards of data management, recordkeeping and archiving.
