Hobsons Bay City Council is conducting an open tender for the playground and open space works at Leo Hoffmann Reserve, located at Newcastle St Newport, is being upgraded as part of Council’s 10-year community parks and play spaces - Capital Works Program.
Leo Hoffmann Reserve is situated in between residential land and has several street frontages. It contains existing pathways and lighting and picnic area.
The current playground equipment will be demolished and replaced with new equipment suitable for all ages.
The Reserve has current pathways linking to all street access and will remain.
The tender offers several options that rely on State funding. Tenderers should complete all schedules for evaluation so that the Evaluation Team can include as many options as the budget allows.
1.2 Overview of Scope of Work
- Upgraded playground suitable for all ages and abilities,
- Increasing the pathway network throughout the reserve, providing accessible connections. (Oval pathways as options)
- An extension to the playing area of the tennis re-bound wall and half court for basketball and netball,
- New community picnic area co-located with the playground including picnic shelter, picnic settings, barbeque, drinking fountain and bin surrounds,
- Additional Park seating throughout reserve,
- Landscaping including new tree planting and landscaped areas to provide shade and comfort to active and passive spaces throughout the reserve.
TENDER OPTIONS
- Oval restoration with irrigation
- A ninja-style agility circuit for teens and young adults, pending successful state government funding grant
- Restoration to existing pergola – Pending State Government Funding
