Tender Description

Adult Medicine Division Education Committee (AMDEC) seeks expression of interest from basic trainee representative

The Adult Medicine Divisional Assessment Committee develops and maintains a program of assessment across Basic and Advanced Training for the Division. The Committee oversees and maintains the development and measurement of formative and summative assessment, whilst engaging in continuous quality improvements of all assessment.

The Basic Training Committee Representative will represent the interests of Basic Training and must also be a current member of one of the Basic Training Committees in Adult Medicine.

Key responsibilities are:

  • implement College Education policy as approved by the College Education Committee (CEC)
  • implement the College’s strategic direction in relation to education within the Adult Medicine Division (AMD)
  • ensure standardization in Basic and Advanced Training delivery in Adult Medicine
  • ensure assessment and accreditation is conducted fairly, efficiently and in a transparent manner
  • advise CEC on education policy and program development in the AMD
  • work collaboratively with the specialty societies and other stakeholders on education development and delivery
  • monitor the Basic and Advanced training program requirements and curricula
  • undertake other functions as required by the AMD Council or Board approved policy or By-Law. This may include acting as a Review Committee pursuant to the Reconsideration, Review and Appeal By-Law or reviewing subordinate committee decisions relating to individual trainee or Fellow progress.

The Committee usually holds 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney and up to 6 video conferences a year.

Applications are welcome from across the Adult Medicine Division.

Members are appointed for an initial 3-year term, with the option to renew for 1 more term.
