The Psychological Therapy Services (PTS) in Residential Aged Care (RAC) model is intended to target people living in residential aged care facilities with mild to moderate symptoms or diagnosis of mental illness. PTS in RAC recognises that the design and delivery of an effective service model requires a flexible approach which is responsive to the needs and preferences of people living in residential aged care.

The service delivery model for this activity will have a particular focus on Low Intensity support services within the Stepped Care Model.

PTS in RAC is relatively new and the evolving nature of mental health care within residential aged care settings necessitates ongoing adaptation and innovation. These funds offer a chance to invest in programs offering low intensity mental health supports to prevent the escalation of mental health concerns and improve the quality of life for RAC residents. The delivery of the grant activities will expand the scope and reach of Murray PHN’s PTS in RAC mental health services, improving equity of access for residents across the catchment.
