Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified and experienced consultancy to undertake a review of community services and facilities in Warrandyte and Warrandyte South. This study is required to determine the future direction and provision of facilities and services in response to the needs of the community, with consideration given to the consolidation of compatible services and the potential for a community hub for the area.
Warrandyte has a range of community services that are run out of Council owned buildings that are spread across a large geographic area and which service a modest population. The long-term consolidation of services and spaces into multipurpose facilities and / or a community hub is a key planning model in Manningham’s Community Infrastructure Plan (CIP). Furthermore, it was found that Warrandyte could benefit from and could contribute to more vibrant centralised nodes of activity and better support intergenerational community connections with improved linkages between sites.
