Austin Health is currently looking to provide a new endoscopy centre and redevelop their consumable store. Both redevelopments will occur in the Harold Stokes Building (HSB) at the Austin Hospital Campus. The project will be staged to enable and minimise the impact to the local departmental areas and their day-to-day activity.
The overall scope of works for this project entails the refurbishment of existing spaces across three levels of HSB (refer attached documentation).
Level 3 HSB - The new endoscopy centre will be located near the Central Sterile Supply Department.
Level 2 HSB - The consumable store redevelopment is located within the Austin Operating Suite Theatres.
Level 4 HSB - A new plantroom to be constructed including the creation of a services shaft from L4 to L2.
The construction includes but is not limited to:
- Demolition of existing and construction of new walls, floors, and ceilings
- Upgrade existing and provide new services (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire) as required
- New structure erection, wall and roof claddings, structural steel and roof plumbing
- Working within a live critical clinical care environment
- Working in multiple stages to accommodate hospital operations
- Managing and coordinating specialised trades such as hospital nominated contractors
- Managing and coordinating medical equipment delivery and installation
- Liaison and communication with a large group of stakeholders and competing requirements
Interested tenders will be required to demonstrate:
- prior experience working in live critical care environments in a tertiary public hospital
- prior experience working on multi-staged concurrent and coordinated clinical projects
- registration to the Department of Treasury and Finance Construction Supplier Register
- acceptance to be registered with Austin Health iPro Certification should they be successful
- acceptance of the contract terms and conditions unamended should they be successful
