Biodiversity and Threatened Species Survey Panel Program
Tender ID: 551926
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (the Department) brings together Victoria’s energy, environment, water, agriculture, forestry, resources, climate action, and emergency management functions into a single department to maximise connections between the environment, community, industry and economy. This brings an integrated approach to the development of long-term state and regional strategies that build on social, environmental, and economic opportunities to provide for future population growth and change.
The Bushfire and Forest Services Group (BFSG) is the Department’s main connection to Victorian communities. BFSG’s core purpose is to protect people, property, and the environment by managing bushfires and bushfire risk in Victoria’s parks, forests, and other public land, and by minimising the impact of fire on communities and the environment.
The proposed Biodiversity and Threatened Species Survey Program (BaTSS) is an adaptation of the existing Forest Protection Survey Program (FPSP) which has managed a Panel of Suppliers since 2019. With a need to continue to adequately identify and protect biodiversity values and threatened species in the management of DEECA managed public land, the BaTSS program will replace FPSP, but as a statewide DEECA biodiversity and threatened species survey program to support land management planning and decision making.
The Department is seeking responses to this Request for Tender (RFT) T2023-0586 to set up a panel of expert service providers for the provision of biodiversity and threatened species surveys to support land management decision making across nominated regions within Victoria.
