The Northern Territory Government is seeking applications for funding which is available to support a range of after-hours and school holiday activities to engage and support young people, in particular those young people at risk and experiencing vulnerability in Palmerston. After-hours and school holidays are important times for young people to expand their skill set, to network and make new friends, and access positive mentors who guide young people through life’s challenges to improve wellbeing, whilst developing life skills. This grant will support strong, collaborative working relationships, including improved coordination across a range of services to strengthen the service delivery responses provided.
The Palmerston Youth Activities funding is available through the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) Regional Youth Services Program, which encompasses delivery and access to both after-hours core youth services and programs including school holiday activities. Grants of up to $40,000 per annum are available for eligible applicants to fund accessible and free group activities that bring young people together, make connections to existing support services, and that are youth informed. Activities or programs must be run during the timeframe of 1 July 2024 to 31 July 2026. Applications can be submitted 7 March 2024 to 7 April 2024.
