Tender Description

Mount Barker District Council (the Council) invites Tenders for the purchase of Road Safety Improvements on a 1.9km section of Hawthorn Road between Mount Barker and Echunga.

Upgrades are limited to localized problem areas and include shoulder widening, guard rail (with some sections of motorcycle under-run protection), linemarking, signage and culvert extensions where required to accommodate the road widening. It is anticipated that rock excavation may will be required to achieve the desired widening in some areas.

Tree removals are required in some areas to facilitate shoulder widening and improve sight lines. At the time of tendering, tree removals are being considered for approval by the Native Vegetation Council.

The works are Black Spot funded and required to be complete by 30 June 2024.
