Tender Description
The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Social Cohesion Measures Grant – Large Projects and National Support from 2023–24 to 2024–25.
The Government announced initiatives to address the social cohesion impacts on Australian communities affected by the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict. The announcement included a $25 million commitment to support Australian Palestinian, Muslim, and other communities who have been affected by the conflict.
It contributes to the achievement of Program 2.5 – Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program within Outcome 2 of the Department of Home Affairs’ Portfolio Budget Statement.
The purpose and objective of the grant opportunity are to:
- combat Islamophobia and support victims
- develop communications to combat Islamophobia and racism
- mitigate the harms of mis and disinformation and narratives that impact communities
- support fact-checked, balanced and impartial media
- support youth programs provided by established organisations who have a working relationship with the relevant community
- strengthen Australia's confidence in the information environment which undermines social cohesion.
