Tender Description
We require the delivery of two identical portable atomic clocks, to DSTG Edinburgh by the end of Q3 2024.
These clocks will have the following nominal specifications:
- Performance:
<2x10^-13 fractional frequency instability at 1 s in a lab-based setting
<10^-14 fractional frequency instability at 5,000 s in a lab-based setting
- Size: <50 L
- Weight: <50 kg
- Power: <200 W
- Automation: The clock should be able to turn on and stabilise itself to the correct atomic transition without an operator present, as well as run remotely for significant periods of time (days) without physical intervention.
- Outputs:
10 MHz
1 Pulse Per Second (PPS)
Optical output (optical atomic clocks only)
- Technical Readiness Level (TRL): 6 or above.
Note DSTG does not have the infrastructure or expertise to conduct this work and the intention is to build sovereign industry capability.
