The Medical Council of New South Wales Code of Conduct and NSW Government Boards and Committees Guidelines direct Council’s operations, responsibilities, and functions. The Medical Council of New South Wales' main responsibility is to protect the health and safety of the public. The Council’s role is not to punish practitioners but to ensure that they are practicing safely and competently.
