Central Highland Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to design and construct a new booster pump station at the Comet Water Treatment Plant. The town of Comet is in the Central Highlands Regional Council area and is approximately 42 kilometers east of Emerald, Queensland.
The town's water supply system utilizes an existing elevated water tank to gravity feed to customers. This tank is fed by the water supply pumps located at the water treatment plant. The existing elevated water tank has been deemed past its serviceable life. The new booster pump station will replace an existing booster pump station, the elevated tank which gravity feeds the customers and is to ensure the continued supply of ultimate EP demand and fire flow.
