Tender Description
Luscombe Weir on the Albert River was originally constructed to provide a potable water supply for Beenleigh and the surrounding region, however, it was decommissioned in the mid-1960s. The weir is now a major barrier to fish passage and an impediment to the broader river health outcomes within the Albert River.
The Councils of the City of Gold Coast and Logan City have collectively agreed to address this impediment in accordance with the vision for the Albert River by the full removal of the Luscombe Weir and reinstatement of the Site as near as practicable to its pre-development natural state.
The scope of Works is for the removal of Luscombe Weir and the reinstatement of the riverbanks to the design and specification referenced herein.
