The project will deliver streetscape improvement works to specific areas of need within the Melton Town Centre. The improvement works will aim to associate streetscape improvement works with the Active Transport and Capital Upgrades project within the Melton Town Centre (where practical) and will be consistent with existing applied treatments as part of the Pride of Melton upgrade.
Streetscape improvement works will greatly improve the amenity of selected areas of the Town Centre that are dominated by road surfaces and car parking, with untreated verges and nature strips. They will make specific areas of the Town Centre more welcoming, safer and a more comfortable space to occupy and travel through. The works are likely to include the planting of advanced trees, provision of garden beds, paving and street furniture which would provide immediate visual, amenity and usability improvements to key areas of need.
