Expressions of Interest are invited from RACP members and subject matter experts to join a Working Group to develop an online learning resource on Clinical Neuropsychology.
Description
The online learning resource on Clinical Neuropsychology is for Rehabilitation (Paediatrics & Adult Medicine) Advanced Trainees.
The working group will comprise of up to 10 subject matter experts who have sufficient expertise in Rehabilitation Medicine and Clinical Neuropsychology, from both Adult Medicine and Paediatrics. Working Group members will all contribute to developing content for the new online learning resource.
The resource will be a self-paced online course, covering the neuropsychological perspective of brain impairment and will introduce some of the major neuropsychological syndromes encountered in patients referred to a rehabilitation medicine unit.
This resource will replace the existing assessment (Module 4) for Rehabilitation Advanced Trainees under the new curriculum (PDF).
The new resource will align with:
- the curriculum for Advanced Training in Neurology:
- theme 3.5: Clinical Neuropsychology, and
- the curriculum for Advanced Training in Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine:
- learning objective 1.1.2 Plan, implement and review a realistic and appropriate rehabilitation program that specifies appropriate modalities of assessment and treatment;
- learning objective 1.1.3 Use relevant medical investigations and therapies; and theme 3.3 Acquired Brain Injury.
Key responsibilities:
- attend regular planning and progress meetings via videoconference
- confirm the resource plan and structure, including key topics and learning objectives
- develop content, including case studies, questions, and social learning activities, for the online resource
- meet key deadlines
- review content drafted by other members of the group and provide feedback
It's expected that the development of the resource will span 12 months throughout 2024, with the content development phase taking place between January – August 2024.
Appointed members will be eligible for CPD hours.
