The Queensland Government is seeking Proposals from Suppliers to participate in a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information in relation to Remotely Activated Tyre Deflation Devices.
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) currently operates manually deployed Tyre Deflation Devices (TDD) to defeat vehicle crime. This is a dangerous activity and requires officers to physically deploy manual devices by throwing from a roadside or pulling across the road in close proximity to the target vehicle. Due to the inherent physical dangers faced by officers in manual TDD deployments, the QPS is seeking information from industry in relation to available remote activated TDD that are portable and provide officer standoff capability.
The purpose of this RFI is to obtain an understanding of current supply market capability, products and services.
Suppliers are encouraged to provide any information they seem appropriate to inform the QPS including any alternative solutions that may meet QPS’ objectives.
