Scope of Works
The objective of this project is to develop a comprehensive Kindergarten Infrastructure and Services Plan (KISP) for all early years centres in Corryong, Bellbridge, Tallangatta, Walwa, and Mitta. This plan will involve in-depth analysis of existing birth rate data, Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data, and infrastructure limitations at each site. The plan will propose new infrastructure solutions where necessary to ensure adequate and accessible kindergarten services for the community.
Deliverables
To ensure it remains a valuable tool for the whole sector, the project will include updating the Towong Shire KISP to incorporate demand for Pre-Prep, and other necessary data updates as required.
The project and resulting plan must include:
Data Collection and Analysis:
Gather and analyze existing birth rate data.
1.Collect relevant ABS data related to population growth, demographics, and education trends.
2.Conduct on-site visits to assess the current infrastructure limitations and space availability at each location.
Needs Assessment
3.Identify the current and future demand for kindergarten services in Corryong, Bellbridge, Tallangatta, Walwa, and Mitta based on the collected data.
4.Evaluate the existing infrastructure limitations, including space constraints, accessibility, and safety concerns.
5.Impacts of extreme weather events and other major disruptors on the delivery of early childhood services in the local area
6.Assess the potential impact of population growth and demographic changes on kindergarten services in the specified regions.
Infrastructure Proposal:
7.Develop a detailed proposal for new infrastructure requirements at each location where necessary. This should include recommendations for building expansions, renovations, or new construction projects.
8.Ensure that proposed infrastructure solutions comply with local regulations and safety standards.
Accessibility and Inclusivity:
9.Evaluate the accessibility of each kindergarten center, considering factors such as proximity to residential areas and facilities for children with special needs.
10.Propose modifications or enhancements to existing infrastructure to ensure inclusivity for children with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Community Engagement:
11.Organise community meetings or surveys to gather input from managers, teachers and educators regarding their kindergarten service needs and preferences.
12.Incorporate community feedback into the infrastructure and services plan to align with the community's aspirations and expectations.
Documentation and Reporting:
13.Prepare a detailed report outlining the methodology, data analysis, findings and proposed infrastructure solutions (utilizing the Department of Education’s template).
