Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) will commence on 1 November 2023. The network operator, Visy Recycling, is seeking expressions of interest from sports clubs, service clubs, retailers and industrial businesses to operate 'over the counter' collection points in major towns in Murrindindi Shire.

The Container Deposit Scheme will reward Victorians with a 10-cent refund for every eligible can, carton, and bottle they return. The scheme provides businesses, charities, schools, community and sporting groups an easy way to raise funds and will create future job opportunities across the Victorian economy.

Visy will power over 200 refund collection points across the Loddon, Mallee, and Hume regions, as well as the inner north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

CDS Vic is set to begin on the 1st of November 2023.
