Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

⁠⁠⁠Engagement Decision Modelling and Simulation (EDMS) Group within the Human and Decision Sciences Division of DSTG has a variety of highly specialised military system software and hardware hosted on computer platforms ranging from Desktop PC’s running Linux and Windows Operating Systems, to secure labs running SUN Microsystems HW with UNIX OS, (Solaris and Linux). This infrastructure is used to develop and demonstrate new capabilities to support military operators in complex tactical decision making, including conducting simulated military operations with Air Force and Navy staff.

A requirement exists for contractor support to design, develop and deliver a Virtual Wedgetail 2 Engineering Document Suite based on the Wedgetail Integrated Research Environment (WIRE) capability to the Air Warfare Centre (AWC).

Task Description

The contractor will, in consultation with DSTG staff, be responsible for the activities below:

  • Installation and configuration of military software in a laboratory environment.
  • Installation and configuration of project specific applications.
  • Documenting software installation and operating procedures.
  • Design, configuration and documentation within security frameworks for associated networks.
  • Writing scripts in, for example, Bash, Perl and TCL.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Test procedure development.

The security classification of work to be performed is up to and including SECRET. The contractor in support requires access to, and management of, computing infrastructure, including servers holding ITAR (US export controlled) data up to and including a security rating of SECRET. A current personal security clearance of NV2 is therefore required.

The skills and attributes required by the nominated key persons are:

Essential:

  • Experience in hardware and software configuration and maintenance of Unix/Linux (Solaris, Ubuntu, Suse) and Windows servers.
  • Experience building, configuring and maintaining virtual machines on Unix and Windows servers.
  • Experience designing, configuring and managing networks including VLANs.
  • Experience configuring and managing file servers and software repositories.
  • Current NV2 security clearance is desirable, NV1 essential.
  • Experience with or ability to access ITAR resources.
  • Note that components of the work will require participating personnel to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Desirable: Expertise in configuring and maintaining real-time military simulation software, including use of DIS protocol.
