⁠⁠⁠The Department of Education (DE or “the department”) is in the process of uplifting and optimizing its use of accommodation across the central Melbourne area with an aim to provide accommodation for the approximately 3,000 corporate staff.

The program of works, driven by Working Places and partnering with IMTD, is aimed at consolidating multiple sites into refreshed corporate accommodation located at 200 Victoria Parade.

This is the basis of the Central Education District (CED) and the driver for the requirements within this document.

A core component of the CED Programme is the provision of a conference center that will replace the function of the existing Level 3, 35 Collins Street conferencing facilities. The new facility will be housed in the 200 Victoria Parade premises and will consist of 6 conference rooms.

An Audio-Visual (AV) solution is required for these rooms maintain the technical standards set by IMTD and guiding principles set by Corporate Accommodation, namely that the conference center facilities are:

• fit for purpose;
• supportable;
• cost effective;
• hybrid in nature; and
• in line with governing standards.

Currently it is estimated that implementation will occur in February 2024 with an 8 week commissioning timeline from computer room availability.

The DE Supplier Portal

The Department of Education’s Oracle Supplier Portal allows suppliers to access and respond to procurement opportunities from a number of Education portfolio entities.
