Indigo Shire Council is seeking quotations from suitably qualified consultants to develop an Urban Tree Canopy Strategy for Indigo Shire.
The development of this strategy is an action from Indigo's Council Plan (2021-2025) and supports our Climate Emergency Declaration and subsequent Climate Emergency Strategic Action Plan.
The purpose of the Urban Tree Canopy Strategy is to help Council understand its urban treescapes and provide strategic advice to help protect existing tree assets and expand new tree assets, so that they are diversified and resilient to climate change while maximising their environmental, economic and social benefits.
The strategy should help guide the tree replacement program for ageing trees to not just maintain the canopy cover, but also to stage tree replacements strategically over a period of time to maintain and protect the character of towns with historically significant treescapes (e.g., Beechworth, Yackandandah).
The RFQ and a small number of supporting resources are contained in the Documents folder.
To submit a conforming quotation the consultant must:
1. Complete, sign and return the Schedules 1-5 in SECTION 2 of the RFQ.
2. Write a cover letter accompanying your submission outlining your experience and proposed methodology to complete the scope of works.
Council has committed an indicative budget of $30,000 (ex-GST) to the project.
