Design and Construct Watagan Creek Road Bridge #3 Laguna

⁠⁠⁠Cessnock City Council proposes to install a new bridge structure around the existing timber bridge structure with a suitable concrete/ steel structure on Watagan Creek Road Bridge # 3, 4.8km east of Great North Road at Laguna.

This project involves the design and construction of Watagan Bridge # 3 at Watagan Creek Road, Laguna.

The following is a general description of the scope of work (As outlined in the Technical Specifications):

• Design and preparation of construction drawings to TfNSW standards for bridgeworks and AS 5100 Bridge Design 2017.

• Designed in accordance with accessibility requirements of AS1428.1:2021

• Provide a Designer’s Safety Report in accordance with SafeWork NSW Safe Design of Structures Code of Practice, together with the design documentation.

• Design the new bridge while working over and around the existing bridge with an aim to preserve the existing bridge structure.

• Construction of a new two-lane bridge with a clear span of 9m and width of 9m over the existing creek.

• Bridge works undertaken in accordance with Quality Assurance (QA) Design and Construction (DC) specifications from TfNSW. The Contractor is to provide a QA plan in accordance with TfNSW specifications, including all hold points and required testing.

• The construction program including the WBS of the bridgework and road approaches.

• Repair and remediate any damage to adjoining areas/properties that has occurred as a result of construction works.

• Remediate disturbed ground and revegetate road batters

• Manage road traffic at bridge site and approaches.

• Provide all site-related documentation before the commencement of construction.
