FY24 Timber Pile Repair Project

GeelongPort has approximately 4600 timber piles across all facilities. The timber piles support the wharf deck above and therefore they must be in a structurally sound condition.

Timber piles degrade over time, due to several reasons including,

- Marine borer attack

- Abrasion from wave action

- Damage from sea growth (mussels etc.)

- Termite attack

- Impact damage from vessels

- Splitting and cracking

- Water damage and rotting

GeelongPort would like to invite contractors to submit their tenders to undertake timber pile repair program for FY24.
