Tender Description
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is seeking 2 skilled Senior Java Developers to assist with Java development tasks for the maintenance and evolution of AMSA’s Australian Response Centre life-critical system called NEXUS.
NEXUS is used to coordinate and manage Australia’s search and rescue incidents.
NEXUS currently has a .NET front-end, Java backend (Unix/Linux/AWS), Oracle PL/SQL, and ArcGIS. This role is to maintain and enhance the Nexus backend including JEE, Tomcat, and Spring applications.
The successful tenderer must be able to provide candidates with the following minimum skills:
- Develop enterprise-grade software using Java and RDB technologies
- Design, create, and manage solutions on AWS Cloud
- Design data models, translate them to physical data models, and implement them using a database
- Implement CRUD operations on the database using Java Object-Relational Mapping frameworks
- Produce and maintain detailed design artifacts & technical specifications
- Create and work with RESTful OpenAPI specifications, SOAP WSDLs, XML Schemas
- Develop and maintain DevOps workflows using Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Maven
This is in addition to the recent round run due to new projects recently greenlighted by the AMSA executive.
Candidates supplied in the June round this year should not be resubmitted as the interviews gave us what we needed last time and the rest of the field was not suitable.
These are key project and BAU support roles that require developer experience. We had several junior or architect-type skillsets submitted in the last round, we need developers.
