Tender Description

The City of Moreton Bay Local Government Area (LGA) is the key growth corridor located between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast and responsible for meeting the needs of approximately 500,000 residents across 2,045 square kilometres. City of Moreton Bay (Council) is committed to providing cost effective services and facilities to enhance residents’ quality of life. Council provides a high standard of integrated waste services based on ‘best practice’ principles, which are complimentary to national, state and regional waste management policies, as well as Council’s Budget and Operation Plan and Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan. Council operates twelve (12) Waste Management Facilities (WMFs) across Council’s LGA consisting of three (3) landfill facilities with transfer stations and nine (9) individual transfer stations where Council, contractors, commercial operators, and residents deposit general waste and recyclable waste. As part of sustainable waste management practices, Council promotes and encourages the recycling of as many waste streams as possible, providing areas at the WMFs for depositing. Various quantities and sizes of Roll On Roll Off (RORO) Bins are utilised for depositing and transportation of general waste and recyclable waste streams at the facilities.

The transportation and service of Council owned RORO Bins includes the transportation, collection, and delivery service at WMFs and other locations. The successful tenderer will be required to transport the contents of the RORO Bins to a Council nominated WMF, Materials Recovery Facility/Recyclable Transfer Facility or another site as directed. There will be no disposal fee payable by the successful tenderer for the depositing or unloading of the contents of the RORO Bins under this contract. Service of RORO Bins must be carried out on any day of the week including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays as directed by Council’s Representative. Council is committed to providing cost effective services and facilities to enhance residents’ quality of life including excellent provisions and services at Council’s WMFs and expects the contractor for the services to uphold this commitment.
