Eurobodalla Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from sporting clubs, recreation providers or other organisations to manage and maintain the Batemans Bay Tennis facility.

Background

This is a Tier 4 facility with 12 synthetic courts, a club house, pro shop and garden surrounds. It is situated at 1 Hanging Rock Place, Lot 101 DP1276323, part of the Hanging Rock sporting complex in Batemans Bay on the south coast of NSW.

The facility is in good repair with an active club of over 130 senior members plus juniors and two coaches working from the facility. Council is looking to license an interested party to protect and extend the life of the asset and maximise the community benefit.

Roles and responsibilities

The licensor will:

• operate or support the operation of club and member activities, including senior and junior competition play, tournaments and entry level programs
• provide professional coaching services
• manage and support public court hire
• support school hire – competition and programs
• promote and deliver community open days
• maintain productive relationships with Eurobodalla Shire Council and Tennis NSW
• have affiliated insurance with Tennis NSW
• have public liability insurance to the value of 20 million dollars
• provide biannual membership and financial reports to Council
• pay operational service costs including electricity and gas
• maintain the facility so it is safe to use and meets the expectations of members and casual hirers. This includes courts, fencing, lights, club house, pro-shop and surrounds.

Council will:

• manage the terms of the license
• contribute 50% to the cost of end-of-life renewals across the facility
• maintain essential service supply to the facility.
• maintain the building in a structurally sound condition
• maintain and keep in good working order and condition any existing services including fire protection and safety equipment servicing the premises
• maintain productive relationships with the licensor and Tennis NSW.

Terms and conditions

A license including the listed roles and responsibilities will be negotiated with the preferred candidate for three years with two 12-month options to extend.

Selection criteria

Expressions of interest will be judged on merit in relation to the financial, community and social contribution demonstrated in the submission. In addition to the completed form, all applicants will need to submit their strategic plan, their financial plan and current operational plan.
