Provision of Banking and Financial Services

⁠⁠⁠Whitsunday Regional Council (subsequently referred to as “Council” or “WRC”) seeks to obtain contemporary, innovative, efficient, easy-to-access, and cost-effective banking and financial services that have a strong customer focus in satisfying the needs of the Council.

Council is seeking a long-term commercial relationship, which is both responsive, collaborative, and cooperative. The contract term shall be for a period of an initial five years with a provision for extension. Council requires the successful tenderer to nominate and allocate a dedicated relationship manager and support team to maintain and further this commercial relationship.

The successful tenderer is to endeavour to minimise the cost to the Council where technological changes bring about cost reductions over the course of the contract. Council welcomes any proposals to utilise alternative technologies for processing which could enable Council to lower its costs.

It is Council’s intention to analyse all options in respect to banking services and may not necessarily take up all facilities mentioned in this documentation. However, during the course of the contract, Council reserves the right to take advantage of further technologies or facilities not initially taken up.

Council’s preference is to obtain all banking and financial services from a single provider, but this does not preclude it from accepting tenders for one or more parts, or from one or more of the tenderers.
