Project Overview
This segment of work will focus on designing and planning for the airside pavement overlays (Runway 14/32 and Taxiway A & B). The aim is to design suitable pavements to handle aircraft movements with minimal maintenance. The design will consider factors such as current and projected traffic loads, climatic conditions, the durability of materials, and cost-efficiency. This will result in a finalized overlay design that's optimally suited to the airfield's requirements.
Scope of Works
The successful consultant will be responsible for the following:
AIRSIDE PAVEMENT DESIGN
• Developing a comprehensive pavement design that caters to current needs and allows for future airport growth and development.
• Identifying and recommending the best materials and processes for the construction of the airside pavement.
• Providing an assessment of the existing pavement's structural integrity and design necessary remediation work.
• Ensuring the design meets the appropriate aviation standards (MOS139). (Include inface with decommissioned 05/23)
• Considering environmental factors, sustainable practices, and local regulatory requirements.
• Preparing technical specifications, drawings, basis of design reports, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Providing on-site supervision during construction to ensure that the design and specifications are implemented accurately.
Qualification
The successful consultants should have:
• Extensive experience in airfield pavement design.
• Capability to develop innovative solutions that maximize cost-effectiveness, safety, and durability.
• Demonstrated experience in managing similar types of projects in airports or similar environments.
• Understanding of the engineering principles and best practices in aircraft pavement design.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
