The AChSHM Committee seeks expressions of interest to join the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Sexual & Reproductive Health Committee.
Description
The Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine Committee is seeking expressions of interest to join the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Sexual & Reproductive Health Committee (SRHC) as the Chapter representative.
The SRHC was established as a Special Interest Group in July 2013 and transitioned to a Committee of Council in December 2022.
The SRHC’s responsibilities include:
- providing advice to the Board as requested from time to time with respect to matters relating to sexual and reproductive health
- developing recommendations for the Women’s Health Committee with respect to health policy matters in sexual and reproductive health including assistance with the development of evidence-based Statements as deemed appropriate by the Women’s Health Committee
- advising and developing recommendations for the Education Standards Committee with respect to policy matters relating to sexual and reproductive health for relevant training programs
- making recommendations upon request in relation to education resources, curriculum, and assessment
- developing recommendations for the Continuing Professional Development Committee with respect to continuing medical education initiatives in sexual and reproductive health
Term and commitment
- College representatives will be appointed for a standard 2-year term
- adhere to the College’s Code of Conduct (PDF)
- provide the RACP with a report or summary of meeting discussions and outcomes as agreed with the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine (AChSHM) Committee
- meetings are held at least 3 times a year; once face-to-face and otherwise by video/teleconference
- where possible, meeting times are arranged to allow travelers to travel to their scheduled meeting and return home on the same day and travel expenses are covered by RANZCOG
