Via the Hope Research Fund, Lung Foundation Australia ispleasedtoinvite applications from early career researchers for the 2024 Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant for Physiological Respiratory Research. Valued at $5,000 (+ GST) over a maximum of 1 year, awarded funds may be used as a contribution towards physiological research of the respiratory system. For the purpose of this Grant physiological research is the use of any methodologies directed towards the elucidation of organ function and its understanding in a precise, quantitative manner.
The Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant-in-Aid in Physiological Respiratory Research was established in 1992 in memory of Professor Ludwig Engel. Professor Engel was a distinguished Respiratory Physiologist who made an outstanding contribution to respiratory science and medicine both through his owns endeavours and influence on his colleagues. This Grant is made possible through the generous financial contributions from his many colleagues and donations made by the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries and the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
