Electric Line Clearance - Beechworth Declared Area 2023/24

⁠⁠⁠Indigo Shire manages the clearance of vegetation from electric lines within a declared area in the township of Beechworth. The declared area is wholly within the urban area of the town and the current list of identified vegetation comprises approximately ~900 individual trees.

An audit of these assets was carried out in April 2023 and the updated register titled “Indigo Shire – Powerline Audit 2023”. The street trees will be treated as part of these works but is not all inclusive as all trees should be checked.

The trees within this contract do form part of Beechworth’s Street tree stock and as such are considered significant for their cultural and aesthetic reasons. Great interest is taken by the local community in the care and management of these trees.

In accordance with Regulation 9(2) – Preparation of Management Plan of Part 2 (Section 9) of the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2020, Indigo Shire Council has prepared its Indigo Shire Council Electric Line Clearance Management Plan 2022-23.
