Tender Description

In 2012, the Nature Parks developed the Summerland Peninsula Master Plan which provided recommendations to reinvigorate the Summerland Peninsula, including the Penguin Parade.

This project is a component of the larger $37.8 million project to complete the Master Plan to revitalise the Penguin Parade precinct.

The Nature Parks was recently successful in acquiring funding from the Victorian State Government through the Regional Tourism Investment Fund to bring a component of the project to life.

This capital project site is within a highly sensitive conservation area and is part of critical Little Penguin and Short-tailed Shearwater habitat. It is expected that an Environmental Management Plan will be developed and submitted by the principal contractor, to mitigate or minimise effects and impacts on wildlife, environment, and Aboriginal cultural heritage. It is also expected to maintain business continuity through construction and undertake construction works outside seabird nesting and migration periods.

The Nature Parks is seeking an expression of interest for a Principal Contractor to provide these capital works at the Penguin Parade. The respondents must have the appropriate experience and qualifications to meet the specific construction requirements, and provide value for money, while conforming to Government policies and probity requirements.
