Design and Construct - Floating Solar, Energy and Battery Storage System at Horsham SmartFarm

⁠⁠⁠The Agriculture Victoria Group (AV) is seeking to install a floating Solar Photovoltaic (PV) array with capacity up to 99.6kW, along with an associated combination Battery and Kinetic Energy Storage system with a capacity between 100kWh and 150kWh. The work is to be carried out at the Horsham SmartFarm on and around a 50ML permeate dam.

The floating Solar PV system and associated supporting infrastructure will provide power to an energy intensive reverse osmosis treatment of wastewater plant that is treating Horsham City wastewater to create a supply of high quality, low salinity water for research irrigation as well as the irrigation pumping system. Additionally, the Solar panels located on the waters’ surface will provide protection from evaporation for the high-quality water and improved PV performance through the cooling effect from the underlying water during hot periods.

The package of work is to be delivered for DEECA. The Capital Projects team from DEECA will be the Principal and Superintendent to deliver the project on behalf of Agriculture Victoria (AV). AV Facility Managers and Agriculture Victoria Research (AVR) members will form part of the Project Management Team and will be consulted throughout the project delivery stages.
