Tender Description
Council has received State Government funding to undertake short-term rehabilitation and landscaping improvement works within the site and provide better access to the river. The identified opportunities include:
Repurposing existing buildings for alternative community uses, such as:
- Mens Shed (already established)
- Op Shop
- Space for young people – e.g., youth centre
- A community meeting space in the existing ‘office’ building
- Public toilets and baby change
Outdoor space:
- BBQ’s
- Picnic tables
- Rubbish bins
- A spot to fish
- Car parking
- A spot to launch kayaks
- Local market
The scope of works includes landscape design drawings to maximise activation of outdoor space as well as considering alternative community uses of existing sheds.
