The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA), part of the Department of Health, is intending to release a Request for Tender for the delivery of Rural and Regional Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services (PSRACS) Revitalisation Strategy Stage 1: Mansfield project.

The project comprises of:

• the construction and commissioning of a new 30 bed facility and an 8 bed extension to the existing Bindaree Retirement Centre on Highett Street in Mansfield, operated by Mansfield District Hospital (MDH). The new facility will replace the existing Buckland Nursing Home located at the MDH site,
• the refurbishment of the existing 38 beds Bindaree Retirement Centre to create a 72-bedroom aged care facility,
• the construction of a new co-located kitchen servicing both the Bindaree Retirement Centre and Buckland House Nursing Home,
• the repurposing and refurbishment of the existing Buckland House nursing home into community health facilities as well.

The facility will incorporate outcomes from the recent Royal Commission into Aged Care and deliver outstanding resident amenity that promotes positive aging.

The project is to be procured in one package of works as follows:

Main Works construction and refurbishment including support services, landscaping and road upgrades.
