In 2021 Liverpool Plains Shire Council received funding from Transport NSW to replace two aging timber bridges in the Liverpool Plains Shire Council that have reached the end of life.
Liverpool Plains Shire Council has engaged InQuik Bridging Systems to design, supply, and deliver the modular components to site for the new bridge build and will provide technical support during the build.
Liverpool Plains Shire Council would like to invite your company to tender for the Construction of the two new bridges, as follows:
Gurton Street Bridge is a single span bridge that is 18.5m long x 5.4m wide with a pedestrian crossing included in the structure. Bridge Road bridge is a single span bridge that is 13.7m long x 4.8m wide.
The first bridge is located at Quipolly, 11.7km from Quirindi on Bells Gate Road, and provides access to local residence living on Bells Gate Road onto Lowes Creek Road over the Quipolly Creek, (and down stream from the Quipolly Dam). The second bridge is in the township of Quirindi on Gurton Street and provides access to the residents living on Gurton Street, Fortune Street, and Church Street onto Nelson Street over Jacob and Joseph Creek.
Both existing bridges are timber, nearly 100yr's old, and severely deteriorated. Additional to timber, Gurton Street bridge is overlaid with concrete. The construction of the two new bridges is to be installed adjacent to the existing bridges and are to replace the two before mentioned bridges. Once construction of the two new bridges is complete and the bridges have been commissioned into service the contractor is then to demolish and remove all waste material from the site of the old bridges.
The Contractor will be required to identify all site-specific safety, technical, quality, and environmental requirements for the work.
The contractor will to be responsible for Identifying the WHS requirements for working around utilities, both overhead and underground, working in traffic, working over waterways, working at heights, workers on foot around plant, exposure to hazardous chemicals, working outdoors and showing how they will protect the environment during works and because of their works.
