Calling Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Artists

⁠⁠⁠Be part of our new Ngutungka Henley

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from South Australian-based Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists or teams of artists that include Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists, to create an artwork for our new Ngutungka Henley community centre and library building.

The artwork will become a centrepiece for this community space, with construction to begin in 23/24.

'Ngutungka' is Kaurna for 'place of knowledge'. Our vision is to create an artwork that tells a First Nations story or explores a facet of First Nations culture. We invite artists to draw upon the coastal area where Ngutungka Henley will be located, known as Wonggayerlo, as well as the culture of weaving that was prominent in this area due to the abundance of reeds and the activities carried out along the coast.
