Biosecurity Weeds – Roadside Spraying Program

⁠⁠⁠Yass Valley Council is inviting tenders for the control of priority weeds on Council managed roads, reserves and operational lands within the Yass Valley Local Government Area. Weeds requiring the most significant effort are Serrated Tussock, African Lovegrass, St. John’s Wort and Blackberry. Other weeds may require considerable effort to meet Council’s statutory control requirements and objectives.

Council's objective is to protect the region’s agricultural and environmental assets against the invasion of weeds. It ensures the prevention, elimination and minimisation of weed threats so far as reasonably practicable and with minimum impact on the environment.

Successful control of priority weeds along roadsides, in reserves and on operational lands is essential to gaining the co-operation of landholders in controlling weeds on private lands.

A panel of approved contractors shall be established for the Contract Period. Quotations must be in accordance with the attached Specification, Criteria and Special Conditions.
