Social Protection (SP) is an important element of Australia’s development cooperation. Strengthening the reach and quality of social protection programs and systems is an investment in poverty reduction, inclusive economic growth, human capital development, state capacity and social cohesion, and resilience against future shocks. Australia’s investment in social protection also enables policy engagement with partner Governments, including cross-regional learning.
