Tender Description
Gympie Regional Council have embarked on a process to gain a better understanding of the real cost of flooding to the community, and to identify options and opportunities to improve flood resilience. Council has undertaken extensive flood modelling across the LGA using contemporary techniques to improve understanding of how water moves through the catchment. The purpose of this Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMS&P) is to identify potential options to manage the flood risk both now and into the future.
Tenders are invited to establish a FRMS&P directly informed by Australian Rainfall and Runoff (2019), Australian Disaster Resilience Handbook Collection Handbook 7 (Handbook 7), Managing the Floodplain: Best Practice in Flood Risk Management in Australia, and the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework (2021) to ensure compatibility with current national best practice. Respondents are invited to submit tenders for completion and adoption of the FRMS&P.
This Contract will be established for an initial period of two (2) years. Council may extend the term of this Contract by up to three (3) 12-month periods at the sole discretion of Council.
