Westernport Water (WPW) provides drinking water, recycled water, and wastewater services wherever economically, environmentally, and socially practicable to properties and communities throughout its district, which includes over 21,000 customers across an area of 300 square kilometers on Phillip Island and the mainland stretching from The Gurdies to Archies Creek.
Westernport intends to install a 750 KVA genset adjacent to the Cowes WWTP Main Switchboard. The intent is to install an automatic transfer switch that will activate and switch the power supply from the network mains supply to the generator power supply on network failure and/or programmed test sequence to generate power at the main switchboard on the failure of the network power supply to the site. Therefore, supplying power to the whole site.
After the wiring is completed and the new Genset and ATS are in operation and commissioned. The wiring, cables, and ATS from the old Generator are to be removed from switchboard MSB 1 2 and the cabinet and bus is to be modified to allow continuity of the electrical supply from the switchboard's main switch.
