Tender Description

You are invited to provide a response to this Invitation to Participate (ITP), indicating your willingness to be a participant in the Army, Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC), Land Combat System Standards Authority (LCS SAuth.), DEF(AUST) Standards, Engineering Working Group(s) (EWG).

Individual EWGs will be conducted for the following LCS SAuth. DEF(AUST) Standards development:

   - Australian Generic Vehicle Architecture (AS GVA)

   - Australian Generic Soldier Architecture (AS GSA)

   - Australian Generic Robotic & Autonomous Systems Architecture (AS GRASA)

   - Australian Generic Training & Simulation Architecture (AS GTSA)

   - Australian Generic Base Architecture (AS GBA)

   - Australian Land Data Model (AS LDM)

Background:

This is the final activity in a three-step approach-to-market, and follows two previous (non-mandatory) industry briefings conducted by the LNIC LCS SAuth.:

 - 09 Dec 2022, LNIC Land Combat System, Standards Authority PMO overview.

 - 21 Mar 2023, LNIC Land Combat System, DEF(AUST) Standards development overview .

These previous activities provided a high-level update on the Chief of Army's intent for Land Capability Integration, by Director Land Network Integration Centre.

In order to prevail in the 21st century, Army must be connected, protected, lethal and enabled. Relevance and credibility demands transformation of Army, to become integrated as a system of systems. Army cannot achieve this alone and requires support from our valued industry partners.

To assist this transformation, Army is seeking to standardise materiel systems to ensure interoperability with the Joint Force, Coalition partners, and to enhance our operational preparedness and effectiveness. The first steps to achieving this have been realised through the development and enforcement of DEF(AUST) Standards that define interfaces and infrastructure requirements on Vehicle, Soldier, Robotic and Autonomous Systems, Training & Simulation and deployable Base infrastructure, through open and collegiate engagement with industry.

To capitalise on the work being done by the Land Network Integration Centre on behalf of Chief of Army, the Land Combat System Standards Authority was raised. The Authority is responsible to develop and maintain Land Standards, and is the conduit between industry and Defence on the implementation of and conformance to Land Standards.

Other Instructions:

Persons wishing to participate in the Army, Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC), Land Combat System Standards Authority (LCS SAuth.), DEF(AUST) Standards, Engineering Working Groups (EWG), should provide a response to this ITP as per the instructions contained within the ATM documentation, before the closing date/ time.
