Council partnered with developers (LendLease) to build a Traffic School to facilitate traffic education programs and recreational opportunities for the community.

Council is seeking submissions from organisations with the requisite experience and capability to enter into a lease arrangement for the use and possession of the Site to manage and operate an independent business at the Traffic School.

The objectives of the Traffic School are to:

•  provide children and other vulnerable cohorts (e.g. people living with disabilities, immigrants and refugee communities etc.) in the community with a controlled environment to learn about active transport, bicycle riding and handling skills;
•  provide community access to services and opportunities for all to recreate,
• learn and socialise;improve community connectedness;
• provide an important attraction that will add value to the whole community and
• recreation precinct developing at the Atherstone estate;
• develop partnerships that reinforce road safety and bicycle education safety;
• encourage and entrench the importance of road safety in the City of Melton
