SWH is seeking an Expression of Interest (EOI) from experienced and qualified building contractors to undertake the construction works for the Warrnambool Base Hospital Emergency Department Expansion project.

SWH is currently in the design phase of a $384.2M redevelopment that will see a brand new clinical tower, inclusive of a 2500m2 state of art ED built with over 38 points of care. The current ED is now at a point where an urgent expansion is required to allow SWH to keep providing high quality services up to the point that the new ED is completed in late 2026/early 2027. The expansion of the current ED will mostly require refurbishment and change of use of existing infrastructure within facilities surrounding the current department. It is also likely that, depending on the agreed functional brief, that there will be small component of either new build and/or infill of over croft areas associated with this project. The construction of this expanded department, which will occur in a live clinical care environment (and will have multiple staging requirements) is required to be completed by 11 November 2023
