Tender Description
This tender is for the supply, delivery and placement of Asphaltic Concrete at various locations within the MidCoast Council as part of Council’s and Transport for NSW (TfNSW) resurfacing program and surfacing of new works prepared by Council and its Contractors. Works shall be undertaken as separable portions. Works shall also include Heavy Patching, deep lift construction of road pavements, and asphalt capping of gravel/stabilised patches (constructed under Contract RFT-MCC-Stabilising Binders-23-00006). Two panels will be established under the Contract, one panel focused on capping of patches (where the contractor is listed on the respective panel of Contract RFT-MCC-Stabilising Binders-23-00006), and the other panel is the balance of works. Contractors are not limited to one panel.
All works (separable portions) undertaken under the Contract will be classified as either Tier 1 or Tier 2, with the division being that Tier 2 being for works of 1,000 Tonnes of asphalt or larger. Tier 1 works shall utilise the submitted schedule of rates for the payment of works completed. Tier 2 works will require Council to seek a quotation from all companies placed upon the Panel. The Tier 1 pricing provides a price ceiling for the Tier 2 works.
The Contract will run for a two (2) year period from the 1st July 2023, or date of awarding contract, to 30th June 2025. The Principal may extend the Contract for a further period of up to 12 months. The Contract is a panel contract.
MidCoast Council may nominate the successful Contractor(s) as “Nominated Subcontractor” for the undertaking of asphalt works under other Council Contracts in accordance with Cl 10.1(b) of AS2124. Further details of this arrangement can be found in the Special Conditions of Contract.
