⁠⁠⁠Zoos Victoria's Melbourne Zoo (MZ) is seeking a design and construct contractor who shares our passion and commitment to helping animals and ensuring a future rich in wildlife by joining us to create a new giraffe barn and holding area adjacent to the existing 'bull' barn at Melbourne Zoo. In delivering this project, MZ will provide a barn and facility to manage giraffes, including chute, ability to manage transports and separations, birthing and increased training opportunities.

The facility will have a designated procedure area, reducing risks to animals during medical procedures and create additional training areas for proactive health care, including an area for hoof trimming and blood draws and a space for birthing giraffes safely.

The MZ Giraffe Barn will be a new build adjoining the existing bull barn with project including:

-Demolition of existing fences/gates and tree removal where required.

-Design and construction of new Giraffe Barn, including mezzanine, approximately 12m x 9m and capable of separating into two enclosures and keeper preparation area.

-Construct and install chute, yard fencing and gates (approximately 11.1m x 16m, separated into chute area and two yards)

-All services works including electrical, mechanical (heating panel) and hydraulics

-Installation of cameras (supplied by MZ)

- Realign roadway to allow contractor and delivery access to the exhibit.
