Expressions of interest are open for the Chair position on the AFRM Trainee Committee.
Description
The AFRM Trainee Committee Terms of Reference guide the Committee’s operations, responsibilities, and functions. The AFRM Trainee Committee is the peak body representing the interest of AFRM trainees at the College.
This role assists the Faculty President in guiding the training experience and provides direction and leadership to the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Trainee Committee (AFRM FtC) as the Chair. The Chair, AFRM FtC is also a member of AFRM Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Chair AFRM Trainee Committee meetings.
- Attend AFRM Council meetings.
- Determine AFRM Trainee Committee’s priorities and develop the AFRM Trainee Committee work plan.
- Coordinate, implement and monitor the activities of the AFRM Trainee Committee work plan.
- Contribute to the development of the AFRM work plan aligned with the RACP Strategic Plan.
- Adhere to the RACP’s policies, including prevention of discrimination and harassment.
Essential Requirements
- Registered trainee of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM).
- Resident in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand.
- Be fully conversant with the RACP’s Constitution, AFRM By-laws and the RACP Strategic Plan, and the AFRM strategic and business plans.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership and understanding of governance.
- Demonstrated understanding of the medical education environment.
- Attitudes of cooperation and positivity and high standards of ethical behaviour.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Commitment to quality assurance and continuous development.
