Warrnambool City Council is seeking quotations for undertaking the Playground Safety Inspections to improve Council’s management of playground assets by providing accurate and comprehensive information regarding the condition, risk exposure and maintenance requirements of playgrounds.
Warrnambool City Council (WCC) has a total of 75 playground sites located in public open space settings including playgrounds located at Council owned and managed Kindergartens and Child Care facilities.
An annual inspection program has been occurring successfully so far, therefore Council is taking the opportunity to turn this in to a multi-year contract.
WCC is aware of its legal responsibility in regards to maintaining and repairing playground facilities throughout the City. Council is seeking suitable contractors / consultants to submit a Quotation for the purpose of assessing playgrounds against risk, defects, condition and Australian Standards specifications.
The successful tenderer is to supply an audit of each playground at individual component level involving an on sight inspection of each playground. Each tenderer is to email an example of a playground audit previously completed by them in order to assess the level of inspections to be undertaken.
The successful tenderer is also expected to use the Conquest software for the survey, Council will make a single user licence available for the contractor to use and training will be provided.
Council requires the successful tenderer to undertake the following project components:
- Annual safety inspection of all Council’s playgrounds listed in Appendix B (75 playground) at the component level and in accordance with their inspection schedule.
- Inspection, defect information and recommendations be populated directly into Conquest.
- Provide Council with an Excel spreadsheet containing details of the play equipment either newly installed in the recently constructed playgrounds or absent from the asset register system (Conquest). The successful tenderer will be provided with a template for reference.
- Provide immediately to Council details of any urgent health & safety related repair items for consideration.
- Surveyors need to be equipped with an iPad, on which the WCC IT team will install the Conquest software (Conquest 4). The Conquest Mobile application is also available for download for both iOS and Android devices.
